How to Fix A Sticking Lock
From DIYinfo.org
Spray an aerosol lubricant into the lock using the narrow flexible applicator tube usually provided. Squirt the lubricant through the latch and bolt apertures and through the keyhole.
If this is not sufficient, remove the lock from the door, take off one side of the case, and lightly grease the mechanism.
Before starting work, note the positions of the components so they can be put back if they become displaced.
Note
Do not use oil in dead lock type front door locks. It attracts grit. Use graphite powder or PTFE dry powder lubricant.
