Slamming a door often leads to the frame becoming loose.

Make new fixings with three large screws and wall plugs on each side of the frame. Long fixing screws, part fitted into a plastic wall plug, are sold for the purpose.

The length should be the thickness of the frame plus at least 60mm.

1 Using a masonry bit, drill through the frame and into the supporting masonry wall, (ideally to coincide with the mid point of a whole brick rather than a mortar joint).

2 Hammer the screw and plug into the hole so that the plug is fully into the wall, then tighten the screw to hold the frame secure.
