| Concrete Internal and External |
New concrete should be left with a wood float finish and allowed to cure for at least 28 days. Smooth finish concrete should be mechanically ground or scabbled. Old concrete shold be clean, dry, free from all contaminations. |

Timber Floors |
Untreated floor should be primed with ABA primer. Apply ABA Ceramic Tile Underlay at 6 mm minimum thickness. Allow to dry prior to tiling, or use the Isoflex system. |

Particle Board and Structure Floor (internal use only) |
Untreated floor should be treated with ABA primer. Joints in sheets must be taped with masking tape or PVA tape. Then use Barrierflex using Isoflex Trowel. |

Compressed Fibre Cement Sheets |
Fix sheets according to the manufacturer's instructions. The sheets should be dry, clean, free from dust, grease, oil etc. Apply Barrierflex with strand mat over the joints between the sheets. Prime the sheets with ABA primer prior to tiling. |

Existing tiles should be sound, free from all contamination, clean and dry. Roughen surfaces by mechanical means. |

Remove flaking paint. Roughen surface by mechanical means. Thoroughly remove water based paints. |

Remove all wax and polish by mechanical grinding. Wash and clean vinyl tiles with hot water and detergent. Allow to dry. Use the Barrierflex system. |

Swimming Pools |
New concrete should be cured for at least 6 weeks. Render should be left with wood float finish and allow to cure for 14 days. |

| Thick Bed Application |
For those occasions where a thick bed adhesive is required (for example the fixing of ribbed back quarry tiles, or over uneven surfaces), ensure that the adhesive used is suitable for thick bed application. |
NOTE: Ensure the correct adhesive is used for the tile specified. |
