Edge Rails (Fig 1)
Any rails used to connect ends together at the front or back of the carcase.
Front Edge Rails (Fig 1)
Rails connecting ends at the front of the carcase either
flush with the front or hidden by doors or drawers.
Back Edge Rails (Fig 1)
Rails connecting ends at the back of the carcase which are often hidden by backs or internal carcase components
Top Edge Rails (Fig 1)
Rails connecting the top edge of the ends at the front
or back of the carcase.
Bottom Edge Rails (Fig 1)
Rails connecting carcase ends at or near the bottom front or back edge of a carcase.
Intermediate Edge Rails (Fig 1)
Any edge rails between the top and bottom edge rails at the front or back of the carcase. There may be several intermediate edge rails in the case of a bank of drawers
Face Rail (Fig 2)
A rail with its face facing the front or back of the carcase.
Edge Rail (Fig 2)
A rail with its edge facing the front or back of the carcase.
