[edit] Corner Entertainment Center

With this project we are revisiting an earlier theme: how to make a TV (and its associated VCR, Cable box and other paraphernalia) less intrusive in a fairly small room. While the popular approach is typically to hide everything behind a large entertainment center, we remain unconvinced that this is the best approach. Instead, we offer the following TV solution that leaves the television in full view while hiding all of the other equipment.

[edit] Corner TV Cabinet

Shirl shows how to knock up a corner cabinet — an ideal way to get more space out of the lounge room.

[edit] Cabinet, Curio - How to Build

A general walk-through of how-to build a curio cabinet for displaying small items.

[edit] Display Cabinet

The classic design of the display cabinet made in this episode of Wood Works includes a flame-maple back panel, cove moulding and a handcrafted handle. The rail-and-stile front and back frames are joined with loose tenons, and the solid cherry case is sun-oxidized for a rich finish.

[edit] Washstand - Change Table

Building a dry sink to do double-duty as a change table makes good sense. The dimensions, storage space and recessed top are perfectly suited to handling baby's, uh, needs. And long after the last diaper changes are forgotten, the project remains as a beautiful and practical heirloom.

[edit] Early American Pine Cabinet

This small early American style cabinet can be put to use in just about any room in the house, especially if some extra storage space is needed. Visit this link for building information.

[edit] Entertainment Cabinet

Could be used as a tv table, CD storage unit, bookcase, display cabinet and probably a whole bunch of other uses.

[edit] Entertainment Cabinet

Before tackling this project, understand that it is for a more advanced woodworker. The need for non-standard thicknesses of hardwood joined in intricate ways demands advanced skill and surgically-sharp tools. But if you're up to the challenge, this project will be a stunning centerpiece for your home.

[edit] Blanket Chest

There was a time when a blanket chest would be found in just about every home. In the days before built-in closets, these chests were used to store clothing, linen and blankets.

[edit] Entertainment Cabinet

This entertainment center is a rather primitive affair, as it is an "open-plan" design with no doors. The philosophy behind this decision was that by leaving the design open I would be less tempted to simply throw any old junk into center's hidden recesses. This design also allowed me to employ a curved design, rather than the more typical straight edges,

[edit] Entertainment Cabinet

This handsome and unique entertainment center provides ample storage for all your home electronics, yet is relatively compact — 5 ft. high and less than 7 ft. wide. The three-unit design features a 20 inch deep center unit spacious enough to hold a large television set, and two 16 inch deep end units ideal for storing stereo speakers, tapes, CDs, and books.

[edit] Entertainment Cabinet

Ron pulled off the highway in Flagstaff, AZ to help Mark Zweifel build the entertainment center of his dreams. This was more than just a piece of furniture; in fact, it looked like it was built into the house. Ron loved the unique idea that Mark had described and was happy to help him build it.

[edit] Fishing Cabinet

When a friend's wife threatens to leave him if he doesn't tidy up his fishing tackle, Shirl comes to the rescue to build a Fishing cabinet.

[edit] Gun Cabinet

The cabinet stands 71" tall and holds eight rifles above, hand guns below, and ammo in the draw. All compartments can be locked but the doors are glass, so trigger locks are recommended. This project takes a moderate skill level, table saw, router, and some mitre work at the top and bottom. The cabinet is made in two pieces, bolted together.

[edit] Gun Cabinet

Cabinet for long arms and pistols. A gun cabinet can be an eye-catching piece of furniture, and we've designed this piece to be as elegant as anything else you would want to build.

[edit] Hide and Display Cabinet

Shirl comes up with a design that allows you to either hide or display your belongings in the one unit.
